Drones: Launching, Controlling & Recalling
Drones are small controlled craft launched from a drone bay. They can deal damage, mine, repair, jam, salvage, or perform other specialized roles depending on type.
A ship must have drone bay space to carry drones and enough drone bandwidth to launch the desired group. Combat drones can be assigned to targets from the drone window. Keep an eye on drone shields, armor, distance, and aggression. Drones left behind are not automatically returned to you when you warp. Different drone sizes and damage types suit different targets. Some ships are heavily drone-focused while others use drones only as secondary damage or utility.
New Pilot Guidance
The easiest costly drone mistake is warping away without recalling them. Build a habit: before leaving grid, check the drone window. Also make sure the drones you bought actually fit your ship’s bay and bandwidth.
