Common EVE Terms & Acronyms
EVE players use a lot of shorthand. If a fleet or guide uses a term you do not recognize, search it here rather than guessing during an operation.
Common examples include FC (Fleet Commander), DPS (damage per second or damage-dealing role), logi (logistics/remote repair), tackle (warp disruption and webbing), scram (warp scrambler), point (warp disruptor), MWD (microwarpdrive), AB (afterburner), EWAR (electronic warfare), D-scan (directional scanner), PI (planetary industry), BPO/BPC (blueprint original/copy), ME/TE (material/time efficiency), NBSI (Not Blue Shoot It), SRP (ship replacement program), and CTA (call to arms). Meanings can vary by group, so corporation-specific terms should follow corporation documentation.
New Pilot Guidance
Nobody expects a genuinely new player to know every acronym. Ask when a command is unclear, especially if it affects where to warp, what to shoot, or whether to move expensive assets.
