High-Sec, Low-Sec, Null-Sec & Wormhole Space
EVE space has different security rules. High-sec has CONCORD response, low-sec has limited empire enforcement, null-sec has no CONCORD protection, and wormholes have their own local-chat and travel risks.
Security status changes what protections and dangers exist, but no area of EVE is completely safe. High-sec discourages some aggression through CONCORD consequences, yet ships can still be destroyed. Low-sec removes CONCORD response to normal player combat and introduces gate and station gun mechanics. Null-sec allows bubbles and broader player control. Wormhole space has no normal gate network and local chat does not provide the same immediate population list used in known space. Before carrying valuable cargo into unfamiliar space, understand the route, likely threats, and what your ship can escape.
New Pilot Guidance
The colored security number beside a system is not a guarantee of safety. Think of it as a ruleset. Your fit, route, awareness, and willingness to turn around matter more than the color alone.
