Ore Compression & Reprocessing
Compression reduces the hauling volume of many resources without turning them into minerals. Reprocessing converts ore or other materials into their refined outputs and can lose value if your yield or location is poor.
Compression and reprocessing solve different problems. Compression makes material easier to transport. Reprocessing turns source material into minerals or other outputs used in industry. The amount recovered can depend on skills, structure bonuses, taxes, and the material being processed. Corporation mining and buyback systems may value raw, compressed, or reprocessed material differently, so check the current corporation workflow before refining everything automatically.

New miners often assume refining is always more profitable. It is not. Before reprocessing valuable ore, compare the corporation buyback or market value of the source material against what your character would actually recover.
