Ship Fittings: High, Mid, Low Slots & Rigs
A ship fit is the combination of modules, rigs, ammunition, drones, and charges installed for a specific job. Fits work best when they have one clear purpose.
High slots often hold weapons, mining lasers, probe launchers, salvagers, or utility modules. Mid slots commonly support shields, propulsion, tackle, capacitor, or electronic warfare. Low slots commonly support armor, damage, fitting, speed, or other passive improvements. Rigs permanently modify the ship until removed or destroyed. Every hull also has CPU, powergrid, calibration, and other limits. A good fit balances the job, expected threats, skills, and cost instead of simply installing the most expensive modules available.
New Pilot Guidance
Do not judge a fit only by its price. A cheap ship fitted correctly for its job is often more useful than an expensive ship with random modules. Use corporation fits or ask before spending a large portion of your wallet on a first doctrine or mining ship.
