Ship Loss, Insurance & Replacement
Ships in EVE are consumable tools. When a ship explodes, the hull and most fitted assets are gone; some modules or cargo may drop as loot.
Loss is a normal part of EVE rather than a failure state. Insurance can return some ISK for eligible hull losses, but it does not replace modules, cargo, implants, or everything you spent. Kill reports are useful learning tools because they show the fit and circumstances around a loss. Corporation SRP or replacement programs may apply only to approved fleets, doctrines, or circumstances. Fly ships you can replace and avoid putting your entire wallet into one hull.
New Pilot Guidance
A common new-player rule is simple: if losing the ship would make you want to quit, the ship is too expensive for you right now. Keep a replacement hull or enough liquid ISK to recover from a mistake.
