Price Check Market Intelligence, Trends & Warnings
Market Intelligence describes measurable market conditions. It does not label ordinary price movement as manipulation. History-based metrics appear only after enough real daily history has accumulated in the EVE Syndicates market database.
The Syndicates Price Check includes a Market Intelligence panel underneath each successfully resolved item. It combines the current local order book with daily price history collected by EVE Syndicates Market Intelligence.
## History and trend measurements
**30D Median** is the median of the daily split-price observations currently available in the local history window. A median is less sensitive to a single unusually high or low day than a simple average.
**1D Change**, **7D Change**, and **30D Change** compare the current split price with a real daily observation from the requested lookback period. The system does not invent missing history. If the database is not old enough yet, Price Check shows that history is still building.
The small split-price chart uses the daily history stored by EVE Syndicates. It grows automatically as new daily samples are collected.
## Spread
Spread is the percentage gap between the current highest buy order and lowest sell order. A wide spread can make midpoint or split values less representative of a price that can actually be executed immediately.
Price Check currently marks a spread of 10% or more as wide and 25% or more as very wide. These are warning thresholds, not a claim that the market is being manipulated.
## 1% and 5% order-book depth
**1% Buy VWAP** and **5% Buy VWAP** are the volume-weighted average prices for visible buy liquidity inside 1% or 5% of the current best buy.
**1% Sell VWAP** and **5% Sell VWAP** are the equivalent values on the visible sell side.
The depth quantities show how many units are currently available inside those price bands. Large requests can exceed near-market depth even when the complete order book still contains enough total quantity to fill the request.
## Immediate price impact
Immediate Sell price impact compares the quantity-aware Immediate Sell average with the current top buy. Immediate Buy price impact compares the quantity-aware Immediate Buy average with the current lowest sell.
A larger impact means the requested quantity has to consume multiple price levels farther away from top-of-book.
## Warning indicators
Price Check can show measurable-condition warnings including:
- Aging or stale market data.
- Wide or very wide buy/sell spread.
- Partial Immediate Sell or Immediate Buy liquidity.
- Large quantity-driven price impact.
- Limited quantity within 5% of top-of-book.
- A current split price materially above or below the available 30-day median once enough daily history exists.
The system intentionally uses labels such as **Unusual Price**, **Wide Spread**, **Thin Liquidity**, and **Large Price Impact**. These warnings describe observed market conditions and do not claim that a player or group manipulated the market.
## Quote confidence
Quote confidence is a rule-based indicator built from the age of the market snapshot, spread, visible liquidity, quantity-driven price impact, and available history. It is not a guarantee that an order will still exist when you reach the market.
- **High** means relatively few warning conditions are affecting the current quote.
- **Moderate** means one or more conditions deserve review.
- **Low** means the current appraisal has significant freshness, liquidity, spread, or impact concerns.
## Why history may say Building
EVE Syndicates stores its own daily market history. New installations begin with the day collection started; they do not fabricate the prior 30 days. One-day, seven-day, and thirty-day measurements become available naturally as the database reaches those ages.
New Pilot Guidance
For large quantities, review Immediate Sell/Buy, fill percentage, and price impact before relying on Top Buy/Top Sell. For new market-history installations, “Building†is expected until enough real daily observations exist.
