Hauling, Cargo Volume & Collateral
A hauling job is limited by route, cargo volume, ship capacity, risk, reward, and collateral. The cheapest route is not always the safest route.
Before moving cargo, confirm the pickup and destination structures, total volume in cubic meters, collateral, reward, route security, and whether the job can be split. A hauler also needs to understand docking access and whether the destination is reachable by the chosen ship. High-value cargo can make you an attractive target even in high-sec. In dangerous space, scouts, bookmarks, travel fits, intel, and alternate routes may matter more than raw cargo capacity.
New Pilot Guidance
Do not accept a courier contract just because the reward looks large. Compare the collateral to your wallet, the package size to your ship, and the route to your experience. If you cannot afford to lose the collateral, you cannot afford to accept the contract.
