Warp Bubbles & Interdiction

EVE New Player KnowledgePublicUpdated 2026-08-24 11:04:18
Quick Answer

Warp disruption bubbles are area effects used mainly in null-sec and wormhole space to stop or alter warps. They are a major reason null-sec travel requires different habits than high-sec travel.

Bubbles can be created by deployable warp disruption structures or specialized ships. They can catch ships arriving at a gate, prevent normal warp while a ship is inside the effect, or be positioned to pull/catch travelers depending on geometry. A bubble is not the same as a normal warp disruptor module: it affects an area. Travel fits, interdiction-nullified ships, tactical bookmarks, scouts, and bouncing through celestials are common tools for reducing risk. Never assume that “warp to zero” makes a null-sec gate safe.

If you have never seen a bubble, learn the concept before your first solo null-sec trip. TheSyndicates University null-sec course covers bubble survival and corporation travel rules in more detail.
